Basic Military Qualification (BMQ)

Length

14 weeks (one week is dedicated to arrival procedures and the other 13 weeks to training).

  • Contribute as a member of a military team
  • Adhere to Canadian Forces regulations and orders
  • Operate the service rifle
  • Physical Fitness
  • Perform Drill
  • Administer First Aid
  • Operate in a field environment
  • Participate in force protection
  • Survive under Chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) conditions
  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Communicate verbally and in writing
  • Canadian domestic and international military relationships
  • History, heritage, traditions of the profession of arms in Canada
  • Canadian Forces well-being programs and initiatives
  • Personal management and administrative procedures
